what a wonderful past few weeks it's been. i feel like I've finally been given some breathing space by the big man upstairs to enjoy my 2 years over here. apart from a lot of things going my way recently, i think it's the inner peace that has been making me smile more often. i just feel really comfortable in everything I'm currently doing. the only thing that would make me smile a little more is if scrubs continued and/or if i won the lottery without even buying the tickets (read more HERE) and/or if i could just stop NS - all of which have the current possibility of negative five.

not to bore you with more metaphors, i will elaborate on the current affairs that have been playing a big part in my overgrown smile. firstly, my luck.


the past weekend, I've gone back to my 'Chinese' roots and adopted the bad habit of gambling once again. i look back and remember on the gambling phase i went through back in the sixth form and it kinda made me remember how great it was winning money, and then putting that said money into my pocket. that was a great feeling. although i didn't win that much, when it did occur, i used to savor that brief 5 minutes before i would probably have spent it.

i played limit poker, a game which i had never played before, thus reducing me back to the level of a 'Nikesh', or 'Harry' (if you know me and my friends well enough, you would get that joke). i managed to win enough dosh in that game however, to cover 2 of my buddies, paying my cab ride home, as well as buying a pack or 2 of the ol' death sticks. i was a happy man.

i think lady luck had a little crush on me this weekend, cause the next day, team sleep headed over to Deja's place for a 'surprise' dinner for Nik, who is sadly leaving.

and we sat around the dinner table for a game of 'blackjack' in which i copped a pack of dosh BIGGER than that of the poker the day before. if only she (lady luck) would stop playing coy with me and just come out from wherever shes hiding. it's not cool to stalk me every once in a while alright lady - show yourself, sit down, have a drink and in a few years time, after I've dated some other females, hopefully we can settle down, have a couple of junior lucks and i will live a happy life. just don't go cheat on me, that won't defiantly not be cool.

SLEEP, THE GIG.

this weekend, sleep, the weekend (ironic), also had their first gig! excite! the pictures can be found HERE. I'm also currently in the action of creating a sleep, the weekend YouTube channel, so be sure to check that out soon. the link for the channel is HERE so be sure to check it out when you feel like listening to some upbeat acoustic music. personally, i feel that the KIDS acoustic cover we did was very well recorded. what sucked about this gig was though, was that my mic stand kept dropping! AHH!
