The legend George Best has past away, and this post is dedicated to the man who made MAN U the team they are today.
in respect for the northern ireland great, many supporters paid tribute to the man by leaving flowers, shirts and scarves outside old trafford
FANS PAY TRIBUTE TO GEORGE BEST
I still remember watching a football classic on ESPN a while back...Northern Ireland vs England, a international friendly in 1971 where england won 1-0. it was classic match, where george best made the england goalkeeper Gordon Banks, (probably still the best goaly to live...) look like one of the three stooges.
In a moment of genius after banks had picked up the ball from the ground after a rubbish shot from the northern lreland forward, it was quite definate that the england goalie was going to clear the ball upfield. The england keeper tossed the ball up and in the moment he was about to kick the ball, BEST pocked the ball out of his hands. As banks was left unattended at his goal...BEST nodded the ball into the empty net, however, the goal was disallowed by the refferre for 'dangerous play'
that is probably the only moment i remeber from george best's career, but nonetheless, he was a legend.
