saw this movie today, after glancing at it a while back. at first i thought this movie was a big dissapointment, but then when u past the first half and hour..it gets better. its quite funny really.
the story is basically about two womanizers who sneak into weddings to take avantage of the romantic 'tinge in the air' haha. john beckwith (owen wilson) and Jeremy Klien (vince vaughn) are two divorce lawyers, who have a knack of attending eddings and getting laid after. of course they have to lie about their names and everything so they can run away after. but one wedding john meets a girl and falls in love with her (OBVIOUSLY, otherwise we wouldnt have movie now would we?) but she is already engaged. so he frantically tries to persue her and eventually she falls for him and they kiss (BIG WHOP). but then, the family finds out his true identity and she suddenly dislikes him. (like any true love story)
funny thing is, jeremy gets caught up with this girl who 'apparently lost her virginity to him' when he crashed a previous wedding. haha, this turns the whole plot as two stories collide in one and thats whatmakes this film brilliant.
this may sound gay, but i want owen wilsons hair --->whatever. anyway whop, JEREMY eventually falls for the girl 'who lost her virginity' to him and they end up getting engaged. at the wedding, john shows up late and gives a big speech (O THE DRAMA!) to claire. they kiss and the movie ends
o yeah! from the trailors, i thought it was going to be more original. it seemed to follw the format of most other love/comedy movies:
1. man meets lady
2. man lies about identity
3. man and lady fall in love
4. lady finds true identity
5. lady hates him for a while
6. end up together
7. happy ending
anyways, overall. the movie was pretty good. it was hillariously funny when, CHAZ...the funeral crasher showed. and guess who played him...the god of comedy, WILL FERRELL. hes the funniest i swear. haha
wedding crashers...7 outta 10
